LIFE IN THE BIG CITY

Maris has dedicated herself to making a difference in the world she lives and the lives she touches.  She has been actively involved in coaching women in small groups and individually for over five years, and has created her coaching practice to be an extension of herself.  Beyond Vision! is committed to impacting lives by empowering individuals to make the ordinary extraordinary and contributing to create a better world…   Making a difference together!

Maris moved from California three years ago, to be with her (at that time) fiancée on Long Island.  Believing that the bigger the risk the bigger the reward, she gave up the life she loved for 33 years in Southern California and the west coast, to come east and settle down to create a new life on Long Island.

Learning that although life doesn't always work out as one expects, as that relationship has recently ended ...  she is now discovering, that with vision, desire and commitment, and the love of amazing friends, the rewards, even under these unanticipated circumstances, are more powerful than she could have ever imagined.

As a successful travel consultant in Los Angeles for over 15 years, I truly enjoyed helping my clients design the vacation adventure of their dreams.  Aspiring to make a difference on a grander scale, I am now helping individuals like you create vision and design the life of their dreams.

Loving the outdoors and the exhilaration of a challenge, I am a long distance cyclist, and in 1998 for my 50th birthday I rode my bike to victory, participating in the California Aidsride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.                                                                                   I continue to ride as much as I can, love to hike, and pray for snow in winter ... although I do have to say that skiing powder and soft snow out west is a lot more fun than the ice in the east!

I have a beautiful 28 year-old daughter living and working in San Diego who continues to make me proud...

And I cannot forget my favorite two “Grandpuppies!”...  Syd is one "hunk" of a chocolate lab, and Ms. Kasey, a "tiny" but lovable golden retriever.

And, I am so very grateful to still be enjoying Mom and Dad at ages 82 and 87.  I must take after my Dad, as he is still as active as possible, a managing coach of a Florida senior softball team two days a week, and only stopped playing a few years ago when he couldn't any longer keep up with the "young'ns"!  He was asked to be Commissioner of all the leagues, however, that's where Mom put her foot down, as it would take him "away" much too often for her liking.

.   “I truly know what it means to create a vision and begin to live that dream.  As I follow my own dreams, I am committed to motivate, inspire and empower folks like you to exceed their expectations and realize their full potential, thereby making a difference in their lives and in the world.  As I coach my client’s visions to reality, they actively Create Their Vision, Relish Their Joy and Live Their Dreams.  WHY NOT YOU?”

WHAT I DO:

Simply… What I do is partner with people like you through this process called Coaching, whereby we create a vision for the future based on your hopes and dreams, and build the roadmap to get you to your destination.

What that means is…  I help my clients overcome obstacles, get back on track, plan strategies to move forward and stay focused…

And what that means to you is… GETTING UNNN-STUCK

That’s what I do…   What are you willing to do?

Some of My Favorite DEFINITIONS:

Insanity – Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Expectation – A disappointment waiting to happen.

Mistake – A lesson not yet learned

Intimacy – trusting people enough to give them the power to hurt you, and then trusting yourself!

Goal – A dream with a plan and a deadline.

Success – on second thought…  How do YOU define success?

Vision - An imagined future destination created by your hopes and dreams that motivates you to move toward it.  Having “vision” and commitment inspires you to leap forward on your journey with excitement and enthusiasm to make that vision a reality!

And finally…  my favorite “short story”!                                        "My Autobiography in Five Short Chapters" by Portia Nelson from her book "There's A Hole In My Sidewalk: The Romance of Self Discovery"

Chapter 1
I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost.... I am helpless.  It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again. I can't believe I am in this same place. But it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there.
I still fall in...it's a habit...but, my eyes are open. I know where I am. It's my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down another street.
